Cumbria
and the Lake District provide some of the most beautiful scenery to be found
throughout the UK. Situated in north-west England, Cumbria was formed in
1974 from the former counties of Cumberland, Westmorland and part of Lancashire.
The Lake District National Park is a region of lakes and mountains within
Cumbria, an area which includes England's largest lake (Windermere) and
highest mountain (Scafell Pike). Cumbria-L is an e-mail discussion list for anyone with an interest in Cumbria and the English Lake District.
