River
View B&B holiday accommodation is in the Yorkshire Dales National
Park, England, UK and is a famous area for a vacation, close to the market
towns of Hawes, Sedbergh, and Ingleton. It is 3½ miles from the historical
village of Dent, which is still cobbled, with white painted houses, and
a 12th Century church, much as it has been for hundreds of years. This bed and breakfast accommodation is a former Quaker Meeting House, the garden being the original graveyard - a list of all buried persons is available - and now laid to picturesque gardens, in which to sit and admire the beautiful Yorkshire views, next to a running river. River
View is a guest house run by walkers for walkers. Walking of any standard
is within easy reach of the house; some walks are accessible by the use
of the famous Settle to Carlisle railway; routes, instructions, packed
lunches and drying facilities are available, along with full English breakfast,
or vegetarian alternatives. Cumbria and the Lake District, a paradise
for walkers, is also within easy reach of River View. The house is situated directly on the Dales Way long distance walk, and within easy reach of the Pennine Way, the Ribbles Way and the Three Peaks of Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent, and Whernside walk. We are 20 minutes walk from Dent Station, the highest in the country, which is frequented by steam trains, soon to be incorporated as a regular service. |
