FTP Support
Using File Transfer Protocol (FTP) Software
When you are happy with your Web pages you
will need to upload them to your Web space on the internet to put them
on public display.

To do this, you will need to use an FTP program
to send your pages to our server.
|
If you don't have FTP software, click
here to download a product compatible with Windows 95/98/Me/2000/NT/XP.
|
If you are using our UK server, you will
need to connect to ftp.nsl.net
If you are using our US server, you will need to connect to yourdomain.com
If you are not sure which of our servers you are using, please contact
us for clarification.
You will also need to enter your
username and password (issued by us) into the software. You should then
be able to connect to your Web space. Once you are logged on, you will
be able to transfer data from your computer to the internet.
FTP really has two transfer modes:
ASCII and binary. ASCII mode is for transferring text files and binary
mode is for binary files (eg. graphics, music files, .exe programs, zip
files, etc.) Most good FTP clients can tell you what type of file you're
trying to transfer and switch modes automatically, but if your's does
not, it is useful to be aware of these two modes.
